LAKERS 116 - 98 HEATS , NBA Finals 2020 , Game 1 Review

The game started well. Both teams took turns to score then suddenly Lakers cooled down and Heat went on a incredible run to take a 12 point lead.

Lakers Head Coach Frank Vogel stood by his usual rotation and took LeBron James out of the game. In came Rondo. Lakers went possession by possession to minimize the lead. Lakers then took the lead when LeBron reentered the game.

Late in the first quarter, Dragic slipped and could barely walk. It looked like the Achilles tear but scans later revealed it was not and team sources confirmed they are hopeful of having him return late in the series.

Bam Adebayo was already injured in the Eastern Conference Finals. He looked fine in the first quarter but he looked visibly hurt after getting physical with Lakers Center Dwight Howard. He didn't return to the game and scans later revealed his x-rays and scans came out negative meaning he'll play Game2.

Butler meanwhile twisted his ankle and was in a lot of pain. But he returned to the game and lookedButler meanwhile twisted his ankle and was in a lot of pain. But he returned to the game and looked fine.

With all these injuries, one would suggest Lakers would have won comfortably and yes that's what happened.

Lakers went on a 76-30 run and the lead touched 30 points.

Tyler Herro had a horrible game. Heat's Zone Defense without Bam Adebayo did nothing against firepower of the Lakers. Lakers attacked Herro in the pick and roll. Herro's confidence detoriated and was the worst player on the court and was -30 in the game.

Kendrick Nunn was back in rotation with Dragic's injury and was the most impressive Heat player. He made the most of the time and showed every reason that he was the runner up to the Rookie of the Year award.

Meanwhile all the Lakers had monster nights. Anthony Davis had 34 Points and 9 Rebounds, LeBron James almost had a triple double with 25 Points, 13 Rebounds and 9 Assists. Their role players did their job too. Dwight Howard had 8 rebounds, Danny Green and KentavDanny Green and Kentavious Caldwell Pope made 3 and 2 3 pointers respectively. Overall it was a impressive game for Lakers despite the Heat suffering from injuries to their key players.
